Trend Micro, known also as PC-cillin in reference to the curative medicine, has easily placed themselves among the forefront of virus protection with their comprehensive line of features. Among their features are anti-virus, anti-spyware, parental control, remote file lock, two-way firewall, rootkits, and identity theft protection. This product is also effective in guarding against other frequent problems such as spam, malware, worms, and Trojans.
While this product is not the most expensive, it still remains in the higher price range because of its excellent efficiency and comprehensive features. This product is available in a free trial subscription as well as one through three-year subscriptions that cover up to three computers within the household.

AVG is one of those companies you really want to recommend. They seem to try hard. Unfortunately, trying means nothing when you’re safeguarding expensive computer technology.
After all, hackers won’t leave your personal information alone because you’re computer protection system is “trying.“ And that’s why we can’t recommend AVG. All we can say is keep trying, AVG.

PC Tools offers several anti-spyware and anti-virus products that are currently on the market.
The products, including Spyware Doctor, generally receive fair reviews and the company offers an honest, albeit, dated approach to protecting your computer. The biggest criticism we have with the product is that it fails to schedule scans or turn on the antirootkit protection. This creates a lot of false positives. More frustrating was its continual flagging of acceptable programs and programs that we installed on my computer ourselves. The program also defined ad-tracking cookies that originated from legitimate sites as threats. In addition, the software strained performance, at times.
